First ,I am not a person that enjoys purchasing a vehicle. In my past purchases I have had to endure pressure sales tactics, back and forth negotiations both for my trade in as well as purchase price. Well not this time. Meeting Tom Phillips was like meeting an old friend. No pressure, down to earth conversations like Hi, how may I help you today. When telling him what we were considering, he took the time to show us differences in the models we were looking at. He was very cordial, took his time finding a vehicle that met our criteria. Surprisingly he found a unit that met all of our 5 criteria! We agreed right away on our trade in value. Their no hassle unit pricing was actually a little less than market pricing we had researched at other Mazda dealers. After agreeing to proceed we met Jerry the manager, then off to Chris in financing. Bottom line we now own a 2023 Mazda CX5 with all the options we were wanting (plus a little more) The total experience was fast and actually my first enjoyable vehicle purchase in over 50 years. My thanks to Tom Phillips and the whole Bommarito staff.
Longwinded but here it is. Bought my first mazda here thinking I was purchasing a car that had been in 0 accidents only to find out it had definitely been in some sort of collision. The day I drove home the new vehicle the bumper became unclipped on one side. They offered to make it right but in the end it's still not fixed. The more I looked at it I began to notice the fender was out of alignment along with headlight. They made me sign a carfax stating it had never been in an accident that I believe is a falsified claim. Beware of these people the individual i worked with said he was willing to go the extra distance for me then sends me a message saying I'd have to pay for parts to fix it. I've contacted the attorney general hopefully going to hear back soon. New update 11/13/25 my paperwork never made it to my bank so now the title is who knows where. Car is still unfixed after they told me it was going to a bodyshop to get get repaired. Not sure what I did to deserve this but what a miserable experience. Not to forget Kevin the service manager said that certified pre owned (CPO) doesn't mean anything to them. They don't stand by a CPO inspection.
I just purchased my 2nd Mazda from Bommarito Mazda South County. They provide excellent customer service all around from their service department, finance department and sales department. I highly recommend working with Brandon Gorenstein if you are considering purchasing a Mazda. He is attentive, helpful, but not pushy. He provided me space to take my time and was great to work with. Love my new CX-30!
If I could choose 0 stars I would have chosen that! This was my first time coming to this particular dealership. When I arrived no one greeted me to tell me where to go, what to do or even how to check in! Several people sitting around and I had to approach one and just ask what do I do?!! The gentleman did assist me. I only came to get an oil change. I had a 9 o clock appointment. When I made the appt I asked the timeframe because I would be waiting with the car and I was told about a hour. I have been sitting here for well over two hours with no update or anything just for an oil change. I go back out and ask what’s taking so long for an oil change because I have to go to work at this point. I was unable to get timeframe. I was just told it must be in back getting worked on now! Again my appt was at 9am it now 11am and my car is just now making it back for an 10min oil change. This is ridiculous! I will never come back to dealership EVER!!!!! I felt my time was not respected and again a simple update would have been nice!
