BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!! I ONLY CHOSE ONE STAR BECAUSE IT DOES NOT LET YOU GIVE NONE- I stupidly did NOT read the previous reviews as he was a friend of my mother's ( a friendship that is now ruined due to lies and deception) and am definitely paying the price. On 2/9/24, I purchased a vehicle under the false premise that it had an additional warranty for up to 6 months or 7500 miles. Within 3 days of the purchase, the car suffered a significant mechanical failure where the engine died. This should have been protected by the warranty. However, Mr. Allen only purchases the "basic" warranty which we learned quickly which means there was cap on the amount paid out which was only $2200 which we could not even locate a replacement engine for that cost. During this debacle which has still not ended almost 5 months later and during the confrontation- Mr. Allen admitted to NEVER getting a car fax from ANY car he has EVER purchased from the auction let alone looking at one. When I had asked for the car fax during the purchase he did not have one but assured me it would be fine as I would be covered by the additional warranty which was a BLATANT LIE. I have since learned from the mechanic he used through the years that this has happened in the past multiple times and the mechanic even told him to get more than the basic warranty because ethically it is not ok to misrepresent. Fortunately, this mechanic was willing to try to help me as we could not find another one who was willing to work with the shady warranty company. Mr. Allen either fraudulently or negligently misrepresented the mechanical condition of the vehicle as well as knowingly sold the vehicle with a so called additional warranty to cover anything major which was a blatant LIE. Throughout the last 5 months, we still don't have a working vehicle. Mr. Allen did give back $500 when I begged him to please help us. I was even willing to just give back the car and have him just pay the loan and I would deal with the rest but he blatantly refused and continues to not take any responsibility. Mr. Allen also knew my financial circumstances and the fact that I am a single mother to three and clearly did not care. I am now in the process of pursuing legal action. DO NOT USE THIS DEALERSHIP!!
We have purchased 4 cars from Allens. All have been reliable. Recently our daughter totaled her first car, purchased from Allens. Mike personally called to check on her to make sure she was ok. Wonderful service! Will be a customer for many years to come!
I have gotten 3 wonderful vehicles from them, my first one got totaled in an accident with a drunk driver, and Mike was so amazing and understanding when I fell behind in payments while recovering from my accident, when I came back to him a few months later, after we had received payment for the first car from my insurance, I went right back to him for my second and third vehicles. Any time that anything has gone wrong, he is right there helping me find good places to get it fixed without costing me a million dollars. I highly recommend going to the Allens for reliable used cars!
The issues we have had with this company are endless. This company purchases cars and trucks from auctions and does not do any diagnostic checks before selling. Last May my fiance and I purchased a truck from here and on our way back home to Richmond, it broke down. Let me say that again... ON OUR WAY HOME FROM PURCHASING THE TRUCK IT BROKE DOWN! They dodged our calls and agreed to only pay half for the issues after we were prepared to take legal action. Need I really even say more? Nearly $3000.00 of MULTIPLE fixes later (that's right, there were SEVERAL MAJOR issues) we had no choice but to just view this situation as "it is what it is." Now, one year later and after all financing has been paid this company "sends" me my title and it goes missing en route. Who sends a car title without certified mailing it?! Of course my calls and messages were ignored again (per usual) and I have no choice but to go out of my way to deal with yet again, another issue. I very much have a "no regrets" personality and try to view things as a learning experience but the last year with this company has been a MAJOR stress and I do more than anything not recommend this company! Do not be fooled by their prices and do not buy from here!!!
