Auto Buyer's Guide – A1 Classic Motors

Shopping for a vehicle at A1 Classic Motors in Fuquay-varina, North Carolina? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.

  1. 1

    Pull the vehicle history report

Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask A1 Classic Motors if a report is available for any listing.

  2. 2

    Take a thorough test drive

Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.

  3. 3

    Inspect for hidden wear

Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.

  4. 4

    Get a pre-purchase inspection

Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask A1 Classic Motors if a third-party inspection is permitted.

  5. 5

    Negotiate the out-the-door price

Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at A1 Classic Motors.

I bought a nice Ford Ranger here on Thursday. The price was pretty reasonable, although it does a have few issues, but the man offered to have the A/C fixed for about $200, which is much cheaper than doing it yourself or taking it to a mechanic. The truck looks great for how old it is and has good miles for a Ford Ranger. From what I could see, there were a lot of other good looking affordable vehicles there too. The man who runs the dealership is really nice and honest. He told us about the issues that he knew the truck had, right off the bat and without us having to ask. If you’re looking for a nice used vehicle, I would definitely recommend taking a look here. My only warning is that it’s in a location that you might accidentally drive past because it’s hard to notice, but it’s beside and behind CVS.

Bought a 2000 Chevy impala with great mileage on the car. Of course, the car had its little defects, but it drove really nice and taken care of from the dealer. The owner was very respectful and honest. We came to a deal, and he handled all the paperwork with no problem. If you are looking for a nice realibale car and not looking to spend too much . This place will be for you. Recommended.

If I could give this car “stealership” no stars, I would! Upon going to go look at their 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and driving an hour away to do so, I was not expecting to see a ragged out piece of junk. There was a LIST of things the owner did not disclose to me about the jeep that I had to find out myself (as expected for a shady place like this). Upon turning on the car, everything seemed fine. I later found out the key fob wasn’t working and wouldn’t lock or unlock the car, two front fog light ballast weren’t even in the bumper, 3 TPMs sensors were shot, the back passenger tire is dry rotted , the engine started smoking due to residue from a SUPPOSED fixed leak. I plugged up my OBD reader and everything seemed clean. During the test drive, the lights started popping up on the dash. Brake light is illuminated, traction control light, and after about 10 minutes of driving.. the dreaded engine light appeared. I immediately pulled over and plugged up my OBD reader again, and a knock sensor bank 1 code appeared. Long story short.. if the deal seems to be too good to be true.. ITS BECAUSE IT IS. Stay FAR away from this shady and unprofessional business. DO YOUR RESEARCH and bring a mechanic with you. THIS PLACE IS SHADY!!! Oh, and the location of this place is terrible. Turned a old car wash place into a “stealership”. If you want to buy JUNK, this is your place to go!!!

I couldn’t be more thrilled with my experience at A1 Closet Motors! As a first-time car buyer, I was nervous about the process, but the team made it an absolute breeze. Their customer service is top-notch, and the prices they offer are unbeatable. It’s rare to find a dealership where the level of service truly matches the great prices, but A1 Closet Motors nailed it! From start to finish,Tarek the owner was attentive, patient, and genuinely cared about helping me find the perfect car. I never felt pressured or rushed, and they answered all my questions with clarity and honesty. I felt like I was in great hands the whole time. I’m beyond satisfied with my new car and am already looking forward to purchasing many more vehicles from A1 Closet Motors in the future. If you’re looking for a dealership that delivers on both price and service, look no further. I highly recommend them to anyone!
