Even as a young man, Charles had a sense of adventure. He had several trucks with campers, and in 1978, he sold most everything he owned so he could purchase a fifth wheel trailer to full time RV across the US and Canada. About 1983, after having some issues with his own 5th wheel, he decided to open an RV service business out of the back of his pickup at the KOA campground in West Sacramento.
