The Sun & Fun Inc. story begins in 1972 when our founder, Don Goedken, purchased what was then Hawkeye Tent & Awning at the age of 21. As someone who enjoyed camping, he sought a more comfortable alternative to traditional tent camping. Shortly after purchasing the business, he bought a load of Truck Toppers and Truck Campers. This was just the beginning. It wasn't long before the tent and awning business was gone and Sun & Fun Inc. was born as an RV dealership. For several years, the business was operated on three corners of a busy intersection just south of downtown Iowa City, IA. In 1993, Don moved Sun & Fun Inc. to a 7-acre location just southeast of Iowa City on Highway 6.
