At Pacific Boatland's current location on Highway 99, the Salmon Creek Grange Hall was built in 1923 and became a historic landmark. Decades later, in 1958 Pacific Sporting Goods took over the old Hall. In Oregon, Tom Wright started out as a line bench mechanic in the boat industry, and many years later turned his love for boats into his business. He bought Pacific Sporting Goods in 1973 and renamed it "Pacific Boatland." Wright and his wife, Helen, operated their business with a straightforward goal: keep customers and employees happy.
